Our Body: a Work of Art

I guess that we have always been told our bodies are a work of art as exemplified in many nude artworks and other creations along time. I guess all of them meant the physicality of the human body instead of just the body itself. Once conceptualism came into play, it became just the body itself as not only a tool but a material.

Usually, its the body in motion is what appears most in video art which is the logical next step for the use of the body. That moving body, as a canvas, is able to portray things in motion that would take more than just a simple, stationary work might be able to prove. John Campus used his body to perform what seemed to be illusions that were meant to be something more, a question of reality itself. The point is that the body is something that is relatable to everyone and whatever it appears to do is also something that is relatable to someone, somehow. It is a very powerful canvas far anyone who has a body.
